Copper Studies Collection

Cornwall's mining heritage runs deep, not just through the landscape but through the culture, the identity and the very soil. The Copper Studies collection is my direct homage to this legacy.

Each piece marries the ancient alchemy of copper leaf with deep midnight blues and locally gathered Bideford Black paint, creating portals of contemplation that reward close observation with layers of meaning. From spiralling galaxies to sacred circles, these studies explore humanity's timeless fascination with cosmic patterns and sacred forms.

The resulting works have an extraordinary luminosity: where light catches the copper leaf, the paintings shift and glow. They are paintings about extraction and reverence, about taking something precious from the earth and transforming it into something that endures. 

Despite their sometimes compact scale, each work carries profound energy - transforming any space into a sanctuary for quiet reflection. Framed in elegant black float frames, these pieces work beautifully as individual statements or as a powerful constellation when displayed together, inviting viewers to discover the infinite within the intimate.
