Ancient moorland reveals its secrets through layers of copper and earth, where circular forms echo the sacred geometry of Cornwall's stone circles and ritual sites. This powerful landscape piece captures the essence of Bodmin Moor's timeless terrain - weathered rock formations, mysterious circular markers, and the deep blue of moorland pools that reflect endless skies. The textured surface speaks of millennia passed, whilst copper leaf catches light like the last rays of sun illuminating ancient stones. A profound meditation on place, memory, and the sacred geometry that binds us to ancestral wisdom.
This is an original painting - hand made local earth pigment paint, acrylic medium and copper leaf on ply board.
The natural materials for the paint have been gathered from the north Cornwall and Devon area, processed by hand and left in a fairly coarse state to add texture.
Paintings containing these natural materials bring a real sense of landscape into the work. They inform the choice of colour palette to ensure an authentic feel and connection to the subject.
The painting is 38cm by 38cm and is supplied in a chunky black float frame with fixings for wall hanging.
Signed on the reverse with certificate of authenticity.
