Threshold Study III

A restrained study of division, arc and remembered place, suggesting a site that is sensed slowly through surface and structure.

This is an original mixed media painting - hand made earth pigment paint and acrylic on canvas with a trace of copper leaf.

The natural materials for the paint have been gathered from sites in Cornwall, processed by hand and left in a fairly coarse state to add texture.

Paintings containing these natural materials literally have the land that inspired them in the artwork, bringing a real sense of the landscape into the work. They inform the choice of colour palette to ensure an authentic feel and connection to the subject.

The painting is 40cm by 40cm and is supplied in a soft white frame with fixings for wall hanging.
