'Standing Proud'
'Standing Proud' is a tribute to the monuments of industry and the ancient natural structures and how they continue to withstand the test of time. From the weathered and elements-shaped rock stacks to the abandoned airfield, they hold firm as nature slowly reclaims her space and only time will reveal their future.
This is an original mixed media painting - charcoal, hand made natural earth pigment paint and ink and cyanotype on paper.
The natural materials for the paint have been gathered from the local area and further afield, processed by hand and left in a fairly coarse state to add texture.
Paintings containing these natural materials literally have the land that inspired them in the artwork, bringing a real sense of the landscape into the work. They inform the choice of colour palette to ensure an authentic feel and connection to the subject.
The painting is 56cm wide and 209cm long and will be supplied rolled in a tube.
Shown in portrait and landscape orientations - this piece could be float-framed in clear perspex (as per example shown) to sit away from the wall for a modern industrial feel, or framed in a simple elegant style.
Mixed media on paper, unframed.
Signed on the reverse with certificate of authenticity.
