Ancient secrets unfold across this expansive canvas, where the moors reveal themselves as both landscape and sacred map. Circular forms emerge like stone circles viewed from the heavens, scattered across layers of earth pigment and atmospheric blues that speak to millennia of human presence on these windswept heights. The interplay of warm earth tones against cool greys evokes the eternal dance between sky and land, while mysterious markings hint at the countless stories held within Bodmin Moor's embrace.

This large-scale work invites contemplation of the deep time that flows through Cornwall's most mystical landscape, where every shadow holds memory and every horizon whispers of ancient wisdom.

This is an original mixed media painting incorporating charcoal, hand made natural earth pigment paints, acrylic medium and copper leaf on raw canvas.

The natural materials for the paint have been gathered from the local area and further afield, processed by hand and left in a fairly coarse state to add texture.

Paintings containing these natural materials literally have the land that inspired them in the artwork, bringing a real sense of the landscape into the work. They inform the choice of colour palette to ensure an authentic feel and connection to the subject.
