'Atop the Ridge'

'Atop the Ridge' celebrates the spectacle of the majestic pancake stone stacks on the moors and their seemingly impossible solidity. 

This is an original mixed media painting - hand made natural earth pigment paint and ink, printing ink and cyanotype on paper.

The natural materials for the paint have been gathered from the local area and further afield, processed by hand and left in a fairly coarse state to add texture.

Paintings containing these natural materials literally have the land that inspired them in the artwork, bringing a real sense of the landscape into the work. They inform the choice of colour palette to ensure an authentic feel and connection to the subject.

The painting is 56cm wide and 95cm long and will be supplied rolled in a tube.

This piece could be float-framed in clear perspex (as per example shown) to sit away from the wall for a modern industrial feel, or framed in a simple elegant style.
