Quarry Studies
The Quarry Studies are intimate works on paper created in direct response to the Cheesewring Quarry area of Bodmin Moor. These small-format pieces were made as part of Natalie's Authentic Abstraction teaching practice - studies that strip the landscape back to its essential marks, layers and textures, using the actual materials of the place: charcoal, natural earth paints, cyanotype and copper leaf.
Each piece is supplied either framed or in a window mount ready to frame, making them an accessible way to collect my original works.
The organic nature of the materials means each piece has a subtle liveliness - slight variations in tone that give them a depth no print can replicate.
