Eternal Shore

'Eternal Shore' explores the southern cliffs of Bude bay, looking out from the high Widemouth viewpoint.

Using paint from sandstone pigment gathered from the beach, this clean, minimal design reveals gorgeous textures and subtle details on closer inspection.

This is an original mixed media painting - charcoal, hand made local earth pigment paint, collage and acrylic on birch ply.

The natural materials for the paint have been gathered from the Bude area, processed by hand and left in a fairly coarse state to add texture.

Paintings containing these natural materials literally have the land that inspired them in the artwork, bringing a real sense of the landscape into the work. They inform the choice of colour palette to ensure an authentic feel and connection to the subject.

The painting is 60cm by 60cm and is supplied in an off-white float frame with fixings for wall hanging.
