'Leskernick Moon' tells the story of the Leskernick Hill village and its stone circle, a settlement carefully chosen for its vantage points and positioning amongst the nearby tors. The scars of the land are emphasised with the addition of synthetic materials sitting on top of the natural dye and paint surface.

This is an original mixed media painting - charcoal, hand made natural earth pigment paints and inks, acrylic paste and cyanotype on raw canvas.

The natural materials for the paint have been gathered from the local area and further afield, processed by hand and left in a fairly coarse state to add texture.

Paintings containing these natural materials literally have the land that inspired them in the artwork, bringing a real sense of the landscape into the work. They inform the choice of colour palette to ensure an authentic feel and connection to the subject.

The painting is 280cm wide and 150cm tall.
